Today, we're kicking things off with an interview with Julie Cleveland, owner of Sauvie Island Lavender Farm, located on a picturesque island on the border of Oregon and Washington. Name: Julie Cleveland Age: 57 Location: Sauvie Island (near Portland, OR) Occupation: Lavender Grower, Sauvie Island Lavender Farm When did you start your lavender farm, and what were you doing before this? I physically planted the lavender farm in 2006, but I spent about three years prior researching and planning the farm. Before becoming a lavender grower, I wore many hats. I managed a marina, published a local community newspaper and worked as a land use planning consultant.

Alexis Sanchez demands higher wages from Bayern Munich?
Filed: Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 19:58 UK
Bayern Munich are reportedly being forced out of making a move for Alexis Sanchez as they cannot match the Arsenal forward's wage demands.
The Chile international, currently competing at the Confederations Cup in Russia, could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium this summer after entering the final year of his deal.
Sanchez has yet to agree fresh terms in North London, which is said to have put Manchester City and Bayern on alert as they compete for his signature.
According to The Mirror, however, the 28-year-old has asked Bayern for a whopping £420,000 a week, equating to around £22m over the course of the season.
The Bundesliga champions are willing to offer a weekly salary of £350,000, it is claimed, but Sanchez is expected to hold out for a better offer from elsewhere.
Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi insists that the former Barcelona ace is fully focused on his international commitments over the next fortnight as Chile take on Cameroon, Australia and Germany in the group stage of the Confederations Cup.

The Great Lag B’Omer Debacle of 2017
Lag B’Omer (or the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer) is sort of like Israel’s equivalent of the Brits’ Guy Fawkes night. Both involve the lighting of bonfires; both commemorate being saved from something awful (the “Gunpowder Plot” of 1605 against King James I and the plague amongst the followers of Rabbi Akiva); and these days, most people merrily participate in bonfires and BBQs without having the foggiest idea what they are actually celebrating. Thus ends the comparison, because what happened here in Israel this year, I cannot imagine would ever occur in the land of the exacting and orderly British.

How to Be a Courteous Airline Passenger: Follow These Tips
You do not have to be a world traveler to know that flying can be a tense and stressful situation, which usually leaves your patience wearing thin. If you are fortunate enough to fly first class, then you may have avoided the common flying faux pas that many people are all too familiar with. With crowded airport lines and tight security measures, by the time you reach your seat, it only takes one rude passenger to throw everything out of whack. If you have ever had a bad experience with flying, you have probably wished that there was a manual, or some golden rules, that everyone should have to follow within that small space to ensure a peaceful traveling experience. Unfortunately, there is no manual, and while it might seem like common sense to you when you are frustrated, there will always be an inexperienced flyer amongst the bunch. So, whether you want to read these for yourself, or hand them to your neighbor, here are a few tips on how to be a courteous airline passenger.

WW3 TENSIONS RISE: Shock footage shows Putin’s forces ‘moving to North Korea’s border’
Another evidently highlights military helicopter movements towards the North Korean border and manoeuvres across rough terrain by army combat vehicles. The move comes as tension remains high despite revelations that a Donald Trump naval armada is not – anyway yet – in position off the Korean peninsula. A video purports to show one of three trains loaded with military equipment moving towards the 11 mile-long land frontier between Russia and the repressive state. Another evidently highlights military helicopter movements towards the North Korean border and manoeuvres across rough terrain by army combat vehicles. Other reports suggest there have

US Army will make two technology demonstrators for next generation armor vehicles by 2022
2022 will be the year of decision for the Army’s nascent Next Generation Combat Vehicle, officials told the Association of the US Army conference here today. That’s when “at least two” NGCV demonstrators get field-tested by real troops. Those soldiers’ feedback, in turn, will inform Army leaders’ decision: whether to fund a full-up program to field a new armored vehicle by 2035, or put off a fresh start — again — and just keep updating 1970s designs.
Next month, the Army will begin “characterization” of how three off-the-shelf Active Protection Systems work on the M1 tank, said Col. Kevin Vanyo, program manager for emerging capabilities at TARDDEC. (That’s the Army’s Tank-Automotive, Research, Development, and Engineering Center). Testing on the M2 Bradley and eight-wheel-drive Stryker will start soon after. Work on all three vehicles — about a $75 million effort all told — should be done about this time next year (specifically, the second quarter of fiscal year 2018).

IT'S NOT ALL DOWNHILL: AMERICAN MUSIC BUSINESS SEES BIGGEST GROWTH SINCE 1998
Move aside traditional formats, streaming music is the new king of the U.S music industry.
2016 was a huge year for the U.S music industry. Last year marked the biggest growth in the U.S music industry since 1998. This is mostly due to the explosion in popularity of streaming services. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, in 2015 streaming music services (Apple Music, Spotify, and TIDAL, etc.) made up 34% of the revenue in the U.S music industry. Last year saw a massive increase in this percentage, rising an insane 17% in just one year. Even more impressive is the fact that streaming music is now 51.4% of all of the music revenue in the U.S music industry. This is the first time streaming services have had a majority over traditional formats. It should also be noted that just a few years ago in 2011 streaming music was only 9% of the revenue.
On the flip side, Digital downloads decreased 22% last year. This is likely due to the fact that many customers are choosing to switch to a monthly subscription rather than a single download purchase. Many of the streaming services are around $5-15 a month, and with many albums costing around $10 to own, it is rather economical to just get the streaming service with access to many more albums. It should also be noted that although physical formats as a whole were down 16% vinyl revenue actually increased 4%. This is the highest wax has been since 1985.
